A few dimethyl 1,4-dihydro-2,6-dimethyl-4-[3-(R-NNO-azoxy)phenyl]-3,5-pyridinedicarbo xylate 2-4 are reported and their calcium channel blocking activities are discussed in comparison with those of dimethyl 1,4-dihydro-2,6-dimethyl-4-[3-(cyano-NNO-azoxy)phenyl]-3,5-pyridinedic arboxylate 1b.
