The skin humidity (=water content of the horny layer) of 160 healthy male and female persons was recorded at eleven different areas by a direct current conductivity method. The total of persons was divided into eight age-groups. It could be demonstrated that there are significant differences between the examined areas and also between the different age-groups. Furthermore there are sex-limited differences in the series of the areas and mean skin humidity.
