Substantia nigra in 33 random cases were examined histologically. Quantitative study of the incidence of Marinesco's bodies proved a close relation between the frequency of occurrence and the rising age. Moreover, nosologic units of significantly higher incidence of these inclusions were found than in the cases of other, randomly chosen ones. Their pathogenesis is discussed.
