
The series of events leading to the onset of haemostasis disturbances in the course of shock is described. In substance, such disturbances are comprised in the general coagulolytic imbalance known as disseminated intravascular coagulation. The main physiopathological mechanisms and clinical features of this form are explained, together with the main aspects of its treatment.
