This paper deals with virus vaccines and their genetic markers. In particular we have examined four of the attenuated virus vaccines, now in widespread use, prepared in cell cultures, i.e. poliomyelitis, measles, mumps and rubella. The data reported could be of critical value for the evaluation of the safety and the prophylactic activity of the attenuated strains and their potential role in the ethiopathogenesis of diseases induced by vaccines.
