
This article describes the problems involved in reaching a rational inventory investment and describes a hospitalwide inventory turnover program that can be used as an aid in reaching this decision. The article illustrates a hospitalwide inventory program at one hospital. The systematic program entails the collection of data, review of the data to develop a program for reducing inventories, and monitoring of the results.
