
Atrophy of the testicles after herniorrhaphy is the most frequent (1.8%) urologic complication in general surgical procedures. In two-thirds of the cases the damage is bilateral. Tips are pointed out to avoid the loss of penile erection after amputation of the rectum or evisceration of the pelvis, as well as to avoid complications after Bernardi-Ivanissevich or Palomo procedures and sterilizing vasectomy.
