This entity develops due to the violation of the Schneiderian membrane of the maxillary sinus by dental pathology and is characterized by unique bacteriology. The characteristic symptoms include unilateral nasal obstruction and purulent rhinorrhea, often without dental pain. A high index of suspicion is warranted when patients present with unilateral symptoms, especially post-dental procedures. Comprehensive clinical examination is crucial for accurate diagnosis, often supplemented by radiographic imaging methods such as computer tomography scans. A multidisciplinary approach involving otolaryngologists, maxillofacial surgeons, and dental specialists is essential for optimal management. Dental infection elimination is the primary treatment step that usually requires surgery. Despite its frequency, odontogenic sinusitis continues to be under-diagnosed due to its non-specific symptomatology and requires a thorough understanding and collaboration across medical specialties for optimal diagnosis and management. The awareness and knowledge of odontogenic sinusitis can enhance early recognition and treatment, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
