
A bacterial disease of Zinnia elegans (Compositae), caused by Xanthomonas campestris pv. zinniae is recorded for the first time in Argentina. The identification of the causal organism was based on disease symptoms, pathogenicity and morphological and physiological characteristics of the cultures isolated from material collected at La Plata, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
