This means that guidelines also have a certain legal significance. Guidelines play a role in disciplinary proceedings in various ways. The basic principle is that the disciplinary court follows a guideline, but sometimes there are reasons not to do so. In addition, disciplinary case law is sometimes a source of inspiration for new guidelines.
