
Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is a tick-borne emerging infectious viral disease in China, Korea and Japan, which is caused by a novel Bunyavirus, SFTS virus. SFTS virus is thought to be maintained in animal-tick interface. This review describes epi- demiology, route of human infection, clinical feature, therapeutics, prophylaxis and preven- tion of SFTS.
