[Multidisciplinary research in emergency medicine].

Abstract

La atención hospitalaria a las urgencias es un proceso altamente colaborativo. Centrada habitualmente en los cuidados agudos, hay un creciente interés en la caracterización de fenotipos clínicos basados en diversos biomarcadores, optimizando la gestión de la atención aguda con esta información y definiendo una vía clínica específica de atención para la sepsis, que se extendería desde el SU a otros servicios dentro del hospital y eventualmente a pacientes ambulatorios. Por lo tanto, los resultados de la investigación en los SU revierten en otras especialidades en virtud de su centralidad en los cuidados agudos para pacientes hospitalizados. Sin embargo, también se han identificado de forma consistente barreras a la investigación en los SU. Estas incluyen la falta de reconocimiento de la amplia gama de opciones para la investigación clínica que existe en el SU, tanto por los profesionales de urgencias como de otras disciplinas.
