[Mechanical Thrombectomy - Recent Trials].

The publications of five prospective randomized trials have made 2015 a milestone in the development of stroke therapy. Up till then, IV rtPA had been the only evidence-based recanalizing treatment for ischemic stroke.In this article we review the results of five trials: MR CLEAN, ESCAPE, EXTEND IA, SWIFT PRIME, and REVASCAT.
