Abstract

The supervision of hygienical conditions in kindergartens in one of the tasks of Public Health. Recommendations concerning the cleaning methods and the application of disinfectants should also be given. An inquiry in 83 kindergartens of a region raises significant doubts on this subject. Due to irroneous application and irregular use the risks of the disinfectants override the prophylactic effects by far. Many kindergartens do not use these agents at all. Present knowledge offers no significant evidence of the necessity to apply disinfectants during the daily cleaning of kindergartens.
