Valoración de riesgos por inundaciones

Abstract

This work presents how the damage-probability curves and expected annual damage curves, as indicators of flood risk, are affected by climate change, structural or non-structural prevention measures, and unexpected effects such as the levee effect. It highlights the interactions between private non-structural and public structures measures in climate change adaptation. An example, with the opening of the Deusto canal in Bilbao, illustrates how a structural measure modifies flood risk and allows us to discuss the role of non-structural measures in adaptation.
