Abstract

En el presente artículo los autores proceden a la revisión de la literatura de los últimos diez años sobre técnicas de instrumentación manual de los conductos radiculares. Para poderlo llevar a cabo se realiza también una revisión del instrumental estandarizado utilizado. Así, se señala que hay dos grandes grupos de limas con vigencia, las limas tipo K, y las limas tipo H. Entre las primeras se observa la existencia de limas de sección romboidal y triangular, más flexibles y eficaces que las anteriores cuadrangulares. Asimismo, entre las K señalan la existencia de limas con punta no cortante, indicadas para técnicas que rotan la lima en los conductos. De las limas H, señalan la existencia de tres tipos: las H tradicionales, las Helifiles y un tercer grupo que incluye las Unifile y las S. En cuanto a las técnicas, expresan la vigencia de la técnica seriada con limado anticurvatura y step back. Como novedades en el período revisado destacan las técnicas seriadas en sentido inverso al habitual (Crown-Down Pressureless Technique, o técnica coronario descendente sin presión, y similares), que disminuyen la extrusión de restos al periápice; la técnica de Roan e, que utiliza limas con extremo no cortante, y mediante movimientos de rotación horaria-antihoraria; y la técnica de Senia-Wildey.
