Artistes en relació a la Barcelona Modernista. Les exposicions femenines de la Sala Parés

Abstract

Amb la realització d’aquest treball he pogut descobrir que, potser, l’interès que aporten aquestes exposicions és d’un tipus que la Història de l’art oficial no contempla, però que no per això és menys important. El segle XIX és un segle ple de grans moviments socials d’alliberament, i entre ells el feminisme es mostra com un moviment a partir del qual moltes dones d’indrets molt allunyats entre ells, de maneres molt diferents les unes de les altres, porten a terme importants iniciatives per significar-se. A nivell artístic, existeixen moltes artistes que s’organitzen, que creen espais de dones i associacions per fer-se reconèixer, a elles i a la seva feina. Dins de les iniciatives que van realitzar per dignificar la seva producció artística, veurem que comencen a organitzar-se exposicions exclusivament femenines a països com França, Anglaterra o Estats Units, amb l’objectiu de fer entendre que les diferències de triomfs artístics entre homes i dones no es deu a les incapacitats biològiques d’aquestes últimes, sinó a una diferència d’oportunitats. La importància d’aquests esdeveniments ha estat reconeguda en diverses publicacions internacionals que estudien les exposicions de París, de Chicago o de Filadèlfia,1 però sembla que a Catalunya no hem estat prou conscients que des de Barcelona es van organitzar una sèrie d’exposicions femenines en el mateix context i el mateix període que les europees i nord-americanes...
