Abstract

An important number of archaeological sites with Solutrean industries can be found in the coast of Málaga, which is a key region in the study of this period in the south of Iberian Peninsula. In this work, we expose the results obtained in the Bajondillo Cave, one of the best stratigraphical sequences recently studied in this area. The regional paleoenvironmental sequence is based in a multisciplinary approach including micromorphological, sedimentological, pollinic and isotopic analysis. Technological, paleoeconomic, symbolic and use-wear analysis allowed us to recognize similarities with the most important cultural features of the Solutrean period, defined by the Iberic Mediterranean environment. Nevertheless, several particularities have been recognized relates with the sequential or economic activities that differs Bajondillo from other locations.
