Abstract

Depositadas en el Museo Episcopal de Vic, y procedentes del yacimiento del Casal de Puig Castellet, existen dos piezas que por sus características se pueden relacionar con el mundo de la orfebrería ibérica. El citado yacimiento se sitúa en un cerro amesetado de unos 763 m. de altitud, a la derecha de la carretera comarcal Vic-Vilanova de Sau, junto al Mas de L'Arumí y al Mas del Coll. Lat. 41 0 55' 40", Long. 60 02' 00". En el punto más alto de la altiplanicie del cerro se conservan los restos de un gran muro, construido a base de bloques y losas de piedra unidas en seco, de una longitud total de 64,93 m. Hacia levante presenta adosada una torre rectangular de 12,20 X 6,30 m., de ligero talud, sin ninguna abertura lateral; las piedras que cubren su parte superior impiden saber si se trataba de un cuerpo macizo, o bien, si su interior tenía alguna funcionalidad. Hacia poniente se abren diez habitaciones o cámaras de dimensiones regulares de 5 m. de ancho por 6,5 m. de profundidad media, separadas por muros de 1,30 m. de grosor medio. Algunas conservan restos de muros que cerrarían su parte delantera. La realización de la planta, así como parte de los trabajos de excavación, iniciados alrededor del año 1960, fueron efectuados por el grupo de arqueología del Museo de Vic.
