Abstract

[eng] La Murga is a project promoted by the scouting and guiding movement of Lleida that connects young people between the ages of 14 and 18 and residents of the Mariola neighbourhood through intervention and improvement of the neighbourhood's living conditions, being a service-learning action. Through coexistence and immersion in the territory, the young participants do not only learn reparation techniques that will help them to renovate flats, but they also get to know the about housing as a right as well as the processes of social exclusion. This Final Degree Thesis is a case study on the project with the aim of of discovering the capacity of the Murga to raise awareness of the right to housing. In order to do this, interviews were conducted with the organising team and one of the educators, as well as with a discussion group among participants. The conclusions of the work have shown a capacity of the project to address poverty and the right to housing from a non-essentialist and structural point of view, by means of and aligned at the level of methodology and objectives with Education for Global Justice.

[cat] La Murga és un projecte promogut pel moviment escolta i guia lleidatà que connecta joves d’entre 14 i 18 anys i residents del barri de la Mariola a través de la intervenció i millora de les condicions d’habitabilitat del barri, essent una acció d’aprenentatge servei. Mitjançant la convivència i la immersió en el territori, els joves participants no només aprenen tècniques de bricolatge que els han de servir per rehabilitar pisos, sinó que també coneixen l’habitatge com a dret així com els processos d’exclusió social. El present Treball Final de Grau fa un estudi de cas sobre el projecte amb l’objectiu de conèixer la capacitat que té la Murga per sensibilitzar al voltant del dret a l’habitatge. Per fer-ho, s’ha realitzat entrevistes a l’equip organitzador i a un dels educadors així com un grup de discussió entre participants. Les conclusions del treball han mostrat una capacitat del projecte per abordar la pobresa i el dret a l’habitatge des d’una mirada no essencialista i estructural, mitjançant la convivència i alineada a nivell de metodologia i objectius amb l’Educació per la Justícia Global.
