[esp] Objetivos: Poner al descubierto la violencia que ejercen las instituciones cuando incumplen su obligación de hacer efectivos los derechos de los ciudadanos. Material y métodos: La investigación se basa en el análisis de los conceptos de violencia estructural o institucional y violencia cultural o simbólica de diversos autores, y en la revisión de algunas de sus manifestaciones sociológicas, jurídicas y éticas, como la impunidad, el daño moral y su detección en el ámbito sanitario. Desarrollo: Consideraciones sobre la violencia que sufren las mujeres en el ámbito judicial (en relación a la impunidad, al poco reconocimiento de los daños morales) y en el ámbito de la salud. Se trata de una violencia que es invisibilizada y amparada por determinadas estructuras institucionales y simbólicas. Conclusiones: Propuesta de investigación y actuaciones sociales para hacer patentes y erradicar las bases institucionales y simbólicas de ciertos tipos de violencia.

[eng] Objectives To expose the violence exerted by institutions when they fail to fulfill their obligation to enforce the rights of citizens. Materials and methods Thisresearch is based, on the one hand, on the analysis of the concepts of structural or institutional violence and cultural or symbolic violence as developed by several authors and, on the other hand, on the revision of some of its sociological, legal and ethical manifestations, such as impunity, moral damage and its detection in healthcare. Development Considerations on the violence suffered by women in the judicial system (in relation to impunity and the low recognition of moral damages) and in the field of healthcare. This type of violence is invisible and protected by certain institutional and symbolic structures. Conclusions A proposal of research and social actions to expose and eradicate the institutional and symbolic bases of certain types of violence.
