Abstract

Els llibres d’hores funcionaren des de l’edat mitjana com a espais de relació, amistat, intimitat, espiritualitat i autoritat femenines. Aquests, portes d’entrada a la vida interior de les seves propietàries, funcionen no sols com a testimonis de la seva cultura, creences y valors, sinó que s’erigeixen també com a regals simbòlics d’amor i afecció vers les seves filles, fills i amigues. Comissaries i ambaixadores de la literatura en llengua materna, les propietàries de llibres d’hores afavoriren, mitjançant la introducció d’oracions personalitzades, el desenvolupament de la fe al marge dels dogmes eclesiàstics, convertint la pregària diària en un diàleg íntim amb la divinitat.
