Abstract

[eng] The Barcelona Superblocks are an important urban renovation project aimed at reducing the role of cars in the city, while creating new pedestrian living spaces. The modification of the public space simultaneously generates a reduction in pollution, thereby offering a healthier and more sustainable city. However, there are unplanned impacts that lead to an increase in rental prices or changes in the commercial fabric of neighbourhoods. In this paper, an analysis of the case of the Sant Antoni superblock is proposed, carrying out discourse analysis and interviews with different actors in the neighbourhood, to identify the impacts that exist in this implementation.
