Se estudiaron las relaciones entre motivación y desempeño académico. Se evaluaron diferentes tipos de motivación (amotivación, extrínsecas, intrínsecas), percepciones de competencia y de reto, y desempeño subjetivo y objetivo (i.e., notas). 607 alumnos participaron en un estudio longitudinal con 5 tomas de datos. La motivación que predomina es la de tipo extrínseco-material (e.g., interés en la nota), y las motivaciones intrínsecas son las que se relacionan con más fuerza con el desempeño.
