On the basis of a simple model for the energy of nuclear matter, we parametrize different equations of state within the constraints of experimental data to describe neutron stars with masses larger than 2M☉. Furthermore, we predict the dimensionless tidal deformability for a family of neutron stars characterized by the mass-radius relation computed from each equation of state. The obtained results are compared with recent observations of millisecond pulsars and gravitational-wave data to conclude with the choice of the best parametrized equation of state to describe the neutron stars observed.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
