Abstract

[eng] This paper focuses on the diverging trends but also the complementary role of both the Spanish and foreign nationality employed populations working in the Spanish labour market. This is done throughout a socio-demographic and a territorial analysis of the activity sectors. A main result of this research is the delimitation of spatial patterns within Spain, which are defined through the distinction of three types of dynamics (substitution, competition and predominance of national employment) within each activity sector and each Autonomous Community (region). Data from the 2000 and 2007 waves of the Encuesta de Población Activa (EPA) -Spanish survey on labour force- are used.
