El lunfardo: de antilenguaje a identidad cultural

Abstract

[eng] This study pretends to place Lunfardo in M. A. K. Halliday’s anti-language theory.Once that objective is reached, this paper will trace the path Lunfardo has made since the concept was first coined and the etymological disputes about it. The many ways Lunfardo appears in different cultural expressions and the Lunfardo terms that have been assumed by the Spanish academic dictionary will also be displayed. Lastly, an analysis about perceptions of Lunfardo in speakers of Argentinian Spanish is made.
