Abstract

A finals de l’any 1991 vaig conèixer el professor José Remesal Rodríguez, i des d’ aquell moment vaig començar a col·laborar en la base de dades del CEIPAC, ajudant a recopilar l’epigrafia amfòrica que s’havia publicat a França. A l’any 1992 vaig començar a treballar específicament sobre l’epigrafia amfòrica de les Dressel 20 trobada a la província romana de la Gallia Narbonensis. L’any 1995 presentava la meva tesi de llicenciatura titulada “L’oli bètic a la Gallia Narbonensis: departaments de l’Estat Francès dels Pyrenées-Orientales, de l’Aude, i de l´Hérault”, on ja fixava el marc on posteriorment desenvoluparia la meva tesi doctoral, també dirigida pel professor José Remesal i amb la codirecció del professor Lluís Pons, anomenada “La presència de l’oli bètic a la Gallia Narbonensis”. Tesi doctoral que no l’hagués pogut finalitzar sense la paciència i coneixements transmesos pel professor José Remesal durant tot el llarg procés d’estudi i defensa de la meva tesi doctoral...

El libro completo recoge las contribuciones que colegas y discípulos dedican a José Remesal con motivo de su jubilación como catedrático de Historia Antigua de la Universidad de Barcelona. El contenido es, forzosamente, heterogéneo dada la cantidad de participantes y la diversidad de campos de conocimiento que abarca: de la historia del Próximo Oriente a la antigüedad tardía, de la historia económica a la social, pasando por las instituciones y el derecho. Este hecho refleja la amplitud del magisterio del profesor Remesal, cuyos discípulos trabajan en ámbitos de investigación muy diferentes.
