El alfar medieval de vajilla culinaria de Cabrera d'Anoia

Abstract

El alfar de Cabrera d'Anoia es un centro productor de cerámicas comunes de cocción reductora que llegó a alcanzar notoriedad a nivel comarcal a lo largo del siglo XIII y XIV. Su ubicación en un entorno agreste y montañoso ha determinado que exista una interacción permanente entre las actividades artesanales y el medio natural, lo que ha originado una modificación continuada e intensa del paisaje. La adaptación de la actividad alfarera requirió, además, el uso de estrategias que asumieran la transformación permanente del espacio artesanal y su progresivo desplazamiento, siguiendo un modelo de explotación que debió de ser relativamente frecuente en época medieval. Tras varios años de trabajos continuados para interpretar sus estructuras y analizar las producciones cerámicas recuperadas en sus testares, nos hallamos, actualmente, en condiciones de hacer un balance de conjunto de este centro productor. El artículo sintetiza los recientes estudios que han tenido lugar a partir del estudio de la documentación arqueológica y de los análisis ceramológicos, antracológicos, petrográficos y paleocarpológicos, así como de las dataciones por radiocarbono, que nos permiten reconstruir de forma verosímil la evolución cronológica y espacial del taller, su tecnología de producción y su sistema de organización a lo largo de un prolongado periodo de casi tres siglos.
