Abstract

La contabilidad en el sector asegurador difiere entre los distintos países y productos, lo cual dificulta su compresión y comparación, así como la elaboración de los estados financieros. Desde hace bastante tiempo, se reclama la armonización global de las normas de contabilidad. Los organismos normativos han estado desarrollando un nuevo marco de valoración para los contratos de seguros con opiniones dispares. La reforma de la contabilidad es una tarea difícil pero necesaria para elaborar unos estados financieros más transparentes y reforzar la confianza en el sector. Se han realizado bastantes progresos con una amplia aceptación. Sin embargo, siguen existiendo diferencias de opiniones sobre algunos detalles clave de las propuestas.
