La Biblioteca de Reserva de la Universitat de Barcelona

Abstract

The Depositary Library of the University of Barcelona dates back to the University of Barcelona Library, re-established in 1836. It includes the rich materials from the city's convent libraries obtained after the disentailment, a part of the old University of Cervera library, and other additions that is has received throughout its history. We describe the various types of materials that it houses, the catalogues, its channels of dissemination, functions and services. We also stress the current problems it faces with regard to conservation and cataloguing.
