Abstract

Durante el año 1992 se publicaron numerosos artículos sobre la técnica protésica y su implicación en la restauración necesaria ante pérdidas de substancia, ya fueran dentales o maxilofaciales. Podemos afirmar que gracias a la utilización de nuevos materiales, estas técnicas descritas pueden tener una aplicación concreta y una evaluación de resultados positiva. Por este motivo hemos realizado una revisión sobre materiales para prótesis dental y maxilofacial, porque creemos que al clínico le conviene conocer la esencia de la restauración y sus condicionantes técnicos.
