Abstract

La limpieza criogénica de cualquier superficie se efectúa mediante el desplazamiento manual de una boquilla con la que se proyectan fragmentos de hielo seco impulsados desde el depósito de un equipo diseñado para este fin (Cold Jet, 2018, Icetech, 2018, Linde Group, 2017). La maquinaria necesaria es similar a la de la proyección de abrasivos: equipo —en el que se puede regular la presión de trabajo y la cantidad de producto (figura 1)—, manguera —de diferentes diámetros y longitudes— y boquilla —de diferentes formas y diámetros que pueden incluir accesorios para la fragmentación o laminación del hielo seco. Se precisa también un compresor de aire —con el que se impulsa el producto hacia el exterior—, y de un secador o enfriador —con el que eliminar la humedad del aire comprimido. Por las características de los equipos habituales, pero sobre todo por el diámetro, forma y tamaño de la boquilla, que dificultan su maniobrabilidad, su uso podría plantearse actualmente en superficies planas o con poco volumen. El hielo seco es la fase sólida del dióxido de carbono y se obtiene al reducir la presión y la temperatura del CO2 líquido de manera controlada. Existen diferentes maneras de presentación del hielo seco —nieve carbónica, pellets o bloques— aunque, por las características de la mayoría de los equipos comercialmente disponibles, se suelen utilizar pellets...
