Abstract

[eng] The main aim of this thesis is to study the model of early medieval occupation in the Baix Montseny (Catalonia). Under the theoretical framework of landscape archaeology, the aim is to assess the possibilities of a set of multidisciplinary methodologies in historical research. The methodologies are moving between geography and mathematics and include, among other techniques, viewshed analysis, catchment areas, optimal routes or hierarchical cluster analysis.
