Abstract

El principal objectiu de la biologia del desenvolupament és entendre com, a partir d'una única cèl·lula ou, indiferenciada es forma el patró d'estructures tridimensionals d'un organisme adult. Aquesta planera definició amaga una història oculta, però intensa, d'una branca de la biologia que fins no fa massa anys era més aviat coneguda amb el títol d'embriologia.
