Sinhogarismo invisible. El caso de las mujeres sin hogar

Abstract

(eng) Homelessness is a multicausal phenomenon and men and women arrive to streets via different ways. Leaving the masculine homeless figure behind and keeping in mind inequalities that exist between genders, we want to delve into the perspective of women who are on the streets. Our main goal is to analyze the conditions and causes that drive women to overnight in thoroughfare. In addition, we are going to study the interventions made in Barcelona in the area of residential exclusion and gender violence. First of all, we have contextualized the current problems with secondary quantitative sources. Secondly, we looked for bibliographical literature relating poverty and social exclusion, homelessness and female homelessness. Lastly, a few interviews were done to people who collaborate in organizations that work with these problems, and, also, we prepared accounts of life of homeless women for analyzing if these interventions contribute to get over poverty and social exclusion. With this enquiry can be observed a need of a gender perspective when developing social abilities and reconstructing identities of homeless women.
