Abstract

El Non-Finito del cèlebre Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475-1564) és un dels aspectes de la seva obra que més diversitat d’opinions ha suscitat des del segle XVI fins l’actualitat. El motiu o els motius que van portar al polifacètic artista a deixar gran part de la seva producció artística inacabada, especialment aquella escultòrica, és encara avui dia una gran incògnita. Aquesta gran incertesa que gira entorn a una part de la seva obra, ha generat un gran debat entre els estudiosos. Les fonts antigues que puguin aportar certeses sobre aquest tema són tant escasses, que les hipòtesis formulades en l’actualitat tenen gairebé sempre com a base al biògraf de Michelangelo, Ascanio Condivi2, però sobretot a l’arquitecte, pintor i escriptor Giorgio Vasari3.
