Abstract

Introducción: La sindactilia es la fusión congénita de dos dedos entre sí, puede ser unilateral y bilateral y afecta a 1:1000 recién nacidos mayormente del sexo masculino. Hay pacientes, en los cuales visualmente se aprecia una sindactilia de todos los dedos, pero esta podría ser debida a una alteración estructural del antepié como el caso del primer metatarsiano corto, mostrando una falsa imagen de sindactilia. Objetivos: Determinar mediante búsqueda bibliográfica un patrón de localización normal de la membrana interdigital y establecer si hay relación entre el primer y el segundo espacio interdigital con el primer metatarsiano corto. Material y métodos: Búsqueda bibliográfica en bases de datos biomédicas y buscadores. Confección de un protocolo para un futuro estudio de localización de la membrana interdigital del pie, mediante radiografía. Resultados: Los nueve artículos encontrados no refieren parámetros de normalidad respecto al patrón de localización de la membrana interdigital. El estudio piloto realizado con el protocolo muestra limitación en la determinación del espacio interdigital. Conclusión: El patrón de localización de la membrana interdigital no se ha determinado debido a la nulidad de bibliografía encontrada. El protocolo de estudio propuesto permite realizar esta valoración una vez calculada la muestra de estudio y corroborar la relación entre la sindactilia y el primer metatarsiano corto, la cual no se ha establecido a partir de la bibliografía encontrada.
