Abstract

Androcentrismo: 'El hombre como medida de todas las cosas'. Actualmente existen en el ámbito académico preocupaciones por temas referentes a la mujer. Concretamente, en lo que puede suponer participación o ausencia en el campo de la Ciencia. En relación a este tema, es muy interesantedetenerse en el estudio del androcentrismo o 'enfoque distorsionador de la realidad', y tomado éste como un problema llevar a cabo un estudio de tipo interdisciplinario a través de los textos y los contenidos de las diferentes disciplinas. Partiendo de esta idea y del fenómeno del androcentrismo concretamente en la historia, queremos plantear el tema de las amazonas en Améruca. Entenderemos por amazonas mujeres que vivieron en una determinada época anterior al patriarcado, organizadas en territorio propio y separadas de los hombres, con los que mantenían relaciones ocasionales. Posiblemente utilizaban las armas como defensa. Este fenómeno no se habría dado con carácter universal ni lineal en el tiempo y en el espacio. Este trabajo, por tanto, tendrá dos vertientes. Por un lado, intentaremos analizar el fenómeno del androcentrismo y los problemas que presenta desde el punto de vista metodológico, teniendo en cuenta que no es ajeno al campo de la ideología. Por otro, estudiaremos el tema de las amazonas, rescatándolo de la pura leyenda para situarlo en el terreno de la Historia de América en base a las crónicas indianas, que siguen siendo una fuente inagotable de inspiración. Por último, trataremos de establecer en qué punto se encuentran los estudios sobre el tema.
