Fisura labial y palatina: intervención enfermera en los procesos y técnicas de alimentación

Abstract

La fisura labial y palatina es una malformación orofacial que ocurre entre la semana 4 y 12 de gestación cada vez más comun entre los recién nacidos. Se estima que afecta de manera general a 1 de cada 700 nacimientos. En España aparecen anualmente unos 750 casos nuevos. No se conoce con exactitud la etiología de esta malformación pero diversos estudios apuntan a un aporte insuficiente de ácido fólico durante y post embarazo, agentes infecciosos, tabaquismo, alcohol, uso de ciertos fármacos, factores genéticos, la edad y posibles factores hereditarios entre otros. La tipología característica de esta malformación es amplia y existen diversos estudios que la clasifican de maneras diferentes. El tratamiento es complejo y largo .Se inicia de manera global con tan solo 2-3 meses de edad realizando la cirugía del labio (queloplastia). Objetivo: Identificar las intervenciones enfermeras en el proceso inicial de alimentación del fisurado labial y/o palatino. Metodología: Revisión bibliográfica con bases de datos científicas incluyendo estudios con fecha de publicación igual o inferior a 5 años realizados a humanos con fisura labial y/o palatina no sindrómica. Resultados: Se han utilizado un total de 31 artículos para realizar este trabajo. Los pimeros 15 se utilizaron para establecer las bases del trabajo y los 16 restantes para responder los objetivos planteados inicialmente. Todos los artículos donde aparece el papel de la enfermera destacan su gran importancia a lo largo del proceso. Conclusiones: La enfermera juega un papel fundamental en la alimentación en el fisurado. Asesora, aconseja, guía, enseña, apoya y acompaña durante todo el proceso.
