Una gestione innovativa dell’acqua in risaia

Abstract

La tradizionale tecnica della semina in acqua e sommersione continua delle risaie consente un uso più razionale della risorsa irrigua rispetto alla semina interrata e sommersione posticipata alla 3a-4a foglia ma, allo stesso tempo, necessita di una migliore calibrazione della gestione irrigua nel periodo di coltivazione al fine di ridurre le emissioni di metano, gas serra prodotto dalla degradazione della sostanza organica in ambiente anaerobico. Il progetto “Riswagest – Gestione innovativa dell’acqua in risaia”, finanziato da Regione Lombardia e sviluppato in collaborazione tra Ente Nazionale Risi, Università degli Studi di Torino e Università degli Studi di Milano, e con la partecipazione del Consorzio di Irrigazione e Bonifica Est Sesia, intende valutare l’applicabilità nell’areale risicolo lombardo di tecniche irrigue che prevedano la semina in acqua e l’alternanza di periodi di asciutta e sommersione comunemente denominate Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD).
