El Inca Garcilaso : Una lectura de Gamaliel Churata

Authors: Paola Mancosu;

El Inca Garcilaso : Una lectura de Gamaliel Churata

Abstract

The present study aims to analyse Gamaliel Churata’s interpretation of the Inca Garcilaso and his Comentarios reales. Although the Inca’s presence is constant throughout Churata’s intellectual trajectory, his representation is not univocal. For this reason, a thorough study on the evolution of Garcilaso’s reception is necessary to underline its ambiguity, such as the political and sociocultural context which frames his representation. The present study is based on a corpus of texts, including both literary and journalistic production by Gamaliel Churata. Keywords: reception, twentieth century, Inca Garcilaso, Comentarios reales, Gamaliel Churata.
