Il racconto della "mutazione" del 1512 in Cerretani e in Guicciardini

Abstract

L’indagine prende ad oggetto, in due autori di diverso calibro e interesse – Cerretani e Guicciardini –, i modi e la strategia narrativa relativi ad un evento cruciale e drammatico nella storia di Firenze, legato emblematicamente al tema ricorrente della “mutazione”: la caduta della repubblica soderiniana e il ritorno dei Medici nel 1512. In relazione al Cerretani l’analisi mette a fuoco, sul piano sia formale sia contenutistico e interpretativo, le connotazioni relative alle diverse fasi di scrittura sull’evento, dai Ricordi alla Storia al Dialogo della mutatione di Firenze, evidenziando punti di vista e giudizi dello scrittore . Il confronto con la narrazione, di ben diverso spessore e rilievo, del Guicciardini nella Storia d’Italia funge sia da strumento contrastivo per enucleare le differenze di impianto e di strategia, oltre che la mancanza di organicità, nel racconto del Cerretani testimone degli eventi, sia per mettere in evidenza le mutate prospettive da cui muove –definitivamente ormai tramontata la repubblica fiorentina- il Guicciardini. Nell’analisi del racconto di quest’ultimo si sono privilegiati la messa a fuoco del quadro interpretativo proposto dal grande storiografo e la sapiente partitura drammatica conferita, in modo incisivamente unitario e organico, agli eventi.
