Panayiotopoulos syndrome is an early-onset benign childhood epilepsy; it is characterised by seizures, often prolonged, with predominantly autonomic symptoms. We report two cases presenting benzodiazepine refractory status epilepticus succesfully treated with intravenous sodium valproate.
