Zootecnia di precisione, la bioacustica identifica in porcilaia la posizione degli animali malati

Abstract

Un nuovo strumento di zootecnia di precisione per monitorare lo stato di salute degli animali in tempo reale è la bioacustica. L’analisi del suono è stata impiegata per localizzare animali affetti da tosse in un contesto di campo. È possibile identificare l’esatta posizione della fonte sonora utilizzando la differenza di tempo di ricezione, di un suono, da parte di diversi microfoni così abbiamo localizzato gli attacchi di tosse dei suini ricoverati. Durante tre ore di test abbiamo registrato i suoni di una porcilaia con sette microfoni raccogliendo 179 singoli colpi di tosse appartenenti a 19 attacchi. Il sistema ci ha quindi permesso di mappare la posizione dei soggetti malati. Questo metodo può essere utile, nell’ambito della moderna zootecnia di precisione, perché, identificando la posizione dei soggetti malati ci permette di monitorare la condizione di salute del gruppo e intervenire trattando esclusivamente i box ospitanti soggetti malati anziché attuare gli attuali trattamenti indiscriminati a tutto il gruppo.
