Abstract

The essay considers the corrections gradually introduced in the various editions of Romano Bilenchi's short stories "La siccità" and "La miseria" and the inclusion of this short stories with "Il gelo" in the book "Gli anni impossibili". The hypothesis formulated is that, through the philological examination of the three texts that make up the book, it is possible to highlight the writer's tendency to create a "novel", and that the dialogue with the publisher is built on the possibility of considering the three theses as a whole.
