Intercultural Dialogues

Abstract

L'articolo affronta il tema della traduzione di testi di "teatro interculturale" e presenta il progetto "Intercultural Dialogues", promosso da Margaret Rose e da me presso l’Università degli Studi di Milano, in collaborazione con altre istituzioni accademiche e culturali quali l’università di Warwick (per le prime due edizioni) e di Cardiff (per la terza), il British Council, e con il patrocinio della Fondazione ISMU - Iniziative e Studi sulla Multietnicità, e di Outis - Centro Nazionale di Drammaturgia Contemporanea. Il progetto è stato pensato per permettere agli studenti di riflettere, attraverso la pratica viva della traduzione, su questioni identitarie e culturali, come testimoniano i titoli delle tre edizioni che si sono susseguite dal 2011 al 2013: “Who do you think you are?” (ospite Rani Moorthy), “I want to be an Inspiration” (ospite Kwame Kwei-Armah) “We’re all mixed-race now” (ospite Hanif Kureishi).
