Il pluralismo religioso sale dal basso: immigrati e nuove comunità di culto in Italia

Abstract

Uno degli apporti più visibili e duraturi dell’immigrazione è il cambiamento del panorama religioso dei paesi riceventi, un aspetto particolarmente rilevante in Italia. Il fenomeno sta assumendo dimensioni e caratteristiche inedite per la storia sociale italiana (Pace 2013; Ambrosini, Naso, Paravati, 2018). L’idea di un’Italia (quasi) monoreligiosa sta tramontando, così come l’identificazione tra religione e Chiesa cattolica. Nello stesso tempo, anche la tesi di una progressiva e ineluttabile secolarizzazione del paese deve fare i conti con le novità indotte dalla 100 fioritura di nuovi luoghi di culto e di minoranze attive che disegnano nuovi paesaggi religiosi (Yang ed Ebaugh 2001). Neppure la ricerca di nuove forme di coesione sociale e di vincoli di solidarietà può prescindere dalla considerazione del contributo di minoranze religiose socialmente impegnate. Questo contributo approfondisce il tema a partire da una ricerca recentemente pubblicata (Ambrosini, Molli e Naso 2022).
