Abstract

Consapevole di vivere nel pieno autunno della polifonia sacra, il musicologo Siro Cisilino (1903-1987) fece della sua esistenza una grande, unica opera di recupero del passato: raccolse con passione e trascrisse molti volumi di musica antica, creando un consistente lascito per interpreti e musicologi che oggi si accingono a studiare alcuni dei più importanti autori del cinque-seicento sacro e profano. Il volume raccoglie parte delle lettere che Cisilino ha inviato in più di un quarantennio ad amici, studiosi, superiori ecclesiastici, direttori di biblioteche e persone legate a vario titolo agli enti con cui era in contatto. Le missive rivelano un affascinante percorso tra biblioteche, stampe e manoscritti, sempre teso alla ricostruzione di un passato musicale percepito come assolutamente vivo e indispensabile per l'attualità.
