Abstract

Partendo da un'analisi della biblioteca Galimberti di Cuneo, l'articolo discute i risvolti ideologici dell'interpretazione discutibilmente patriottica di alcuni autori romantici inglesi da parte di un ambiente politico e culturale profondamente influenzato dal retaggio di idee mazziniane e dal desiderio di (ri)costruire il ruolo pubblico e la responsabilità civile dell'artista.
